Aakash Gautam (born 25 May 1998) is an astronomer, educator and space exploration advocate from India. Aakash is widely known by his alias Planet Aakash. He founded Planet Aakash School and co-founded CosmosNow. Aakash educates the general public and the youth especially students about astronomy and how is it important to us. Aakash is widely known by his online alias Planet Aakash for his work in space-related videos, infographics, and visual content imagery. Aakash is also a space YouTuber posting his videos under the eponym Planet Aakash. Planet Aakash (YouTube Channel) has a total of 1.5 million+ views and more than 42,000 subscribers.

He pursued his graduation degree Bachelor of Computer Application from Himachal Pradesh University and now pursuing his masters from the same in computer applications. His hobbies include sketching, philately and speed cubing.

Planet Aakash is multi-platform outer space communication, education and outreach entity used as a pseudonym by Aakash Gautam.

Cosmic Symphony - Pale Blue Dot[edit | hide | edit source]

In December 2018, Aakash released a short film named Cosmic Symphony - Pale Blue Dot on YouTube and Facebook. The short film was narrated by the legendary astronomer Carl Sagan. The plot of the film surrounds around 'how we should cherish the beauty of only known home - Earth, and how we should never fluff our ego with brittle short-term achievements and material goods'.

Planet Aakash School is an India-based astronomy and outer space education web portal, that embraces on open learning and free digital educational content. Planet Aakash School is also known otherwise as Planet Aakash Space School or Planet Aakash Open School for Astronomy Education and Outreach.

CosmosNow[edit | hide | edit source]

In 2019, Gautam co-founded CosmosNow magazine - an astronomy and space magazine which curates content for amateurs. Aakash co-founded magazine along with Krishan Kumar, Rajkumar Shukla, Siddhant Mohite and Ajay Sharma, with first issue release in August month.
