Career[edit | hide all | hide | edit source]

Born in Liverpool, Dickinson played in the Youth and Reserve squads of Tranmere Rovers but despite scoring 5 goals in 14 appearances, he never broke into the senior squad. He started his senior career in the Welsh Premier League with Connah's Quay Nomads, before they changed their name to Gap Connah's Quay following a club takeover. He missed virtually all of the 2007-08 season, playing just twenty minutes of a match versus Neath F.C. and scoring before suffering an Anterior cruciate ligament injury.[1] He returned the next season to play eleven times and score twice before being released by the club and moving to New Zealand where he signed for Auckland City FC.[2] The most noteworthy moment in his career to date came during the 2009 FIFA Club World Cup when he scored his first goal for the club, Auckland City's first of the game against Al Ahli in a 2-0 win, their first every victory in this prestigious competition, attracting attention from Wellington Phoenix and Sydney FC[3][4]
