Ajith Kumar R is an Indian poet and activist from the state of Kerala. He writes in Malayalam and is among the most acclaimed of young poets in the state. His first book [1] Ottathhullypeythu was published by [2] DC Books and was appreciated by critics and the [3] public alike, selling out completely.

He writes mostly about current issues and his short and sharp writing has a huge following online. His writing shows a distinct departure from tradition and has courted controversies for its' criticism of religious fundamentalism and moral policing. He is also associated with the ESSENCE Group which promotes rationalism and free thinking.

He spent his formative years and completed his education at Pandalam, in the district of Pathanamthitta. He graduated in English Literature from N. S. S. College, Pandalam and was a teacher for two years before moving to Cochin and taking up a career in advertising. He has worked Oman and is currently working as Ideation Group Head with Maitri Advertising based at Cochin. He is a recipient of numerous advertising awards.

He did his lower primary education at LP School Kudassanad and upper primary schooling at NSSHS Kudassanad. He is Married to Meera Krishnan, who works as a journalist with Kerala Kaumudi

He authored a book named [4] Ottathullippeythu which was published by DC Books in 2016 and his second book Biriyani Thinnunna Balikkakkakal is about to be launched by the same publisher. Besides being a poet, he is activist and freethinker who actively involves in the social issues of Kerala.
