Akash Mukesh Ambani (born 23 October 1991)[3] is the chief of strategy of Jio, an Indian 4G service provider. He is a co-owner of IPL franchise Mumbai Indians along with his mother Nita Ambani. Ambani also serves in the boards of Jio and Reliance Retail.

He is the elder son of Mukesh Ambani, the chairman and managing director of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Nita Ambani, founder of Reliance Foundation. [4][5][6]

In October 2016, Ambani quoted that his company, Jio, was evolving every day like a startup. A provider of 4G data services along with a collection of online services, Jio launched in April 2016.[7][8] An employee launch of the services happened in December 2015 at the presence of its brand ambassador, Shah Rukh Khan.[9][5][10]

Ambani is a co-owner of IPL franchise Mumbai Indians, which he runs with his mother Nita. In the 2018 edition of the league, he was a key member in the bidding event of potential team members.[11][12]

Akash Ambani was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra on 23 October 1991. He completed his schooling from Dhirubhai Ambani International School. He majored in Economics from Brown University.[13] He is the elder son of Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani. His twin sister, Isha Ambani, is a co-director at Jio and Reliance Retail. He has a younger brother, Anant Ambani.[14]

On 24 March 2018, he got engaged to Shloka Mehta, daughter of diamond magnate and managing director of Rosy Blue, Russell Mehta, in Goa.[15][16]
