Life and early career[edit | hide all | hide | edit source]

De Pape grew up in Belgium and attended Utrecht University to pursue a degree in International Relations and later received a degree in General Management from Vlerick Business School. After his education, De Pape worked as an economics teacher at a special needs school in the Netherlands, after which De Pape went into a career in publishing. Furthermore, De Pape authored the children’s book “I am…!” in 2008.[4]

TeachPitch[edit | hide | edit source]

De Pape founded TeachPitch in July 2014.[5] TeachPitch was created as a solution to the problem of the growing abundance of online learning resources which De Pape experienced during his own time as a teacher while constantly being time- and budget constrained.[6] The platform was deliberately conceived as a global community, inspired by de Pape’s years of working with teachers across the world through the education charity As We Grow.[7] In 2016, De Pape was shortlisted by The Great British Entrepreneur Awards as one of the 50 best tech entrepreneurs in the United Kingdom.[8]

Since its founding, De Pape has grown the company to a team of 17, spread in offices around the world in London (United Kingdom), Beijing (China) and Tirana (Albania).[9]
