Life and early career[edit | hide all | hide | edit source]
De Pape grew up in Belgium and attended Utrecht University to pursue a degree in International Relations and later received a degree in General Management from Vlerick Business School. After his education, De Pape worked as an economics teacher at a special needs school in the Netherlands, after which De Pape went into a career in publishing. Furthermore, De Pape authored the children’s book “I am…!” in 2008.
TeachPitch[edit | hide | edit source]
De Pape founded TeachPitch in July 2014. TeachPitch was created as a solution to the problem of the growing abundance of online learning resources which De Pape experienced during his own time as a teacher while constantly being time- and budget constrained. The platform was deliberately conceived as a global community, inspired by de Pape’s years of working with teachers across the world through the education charity As We Grow. In 2016, De Pape was shortlisted by The Great British Entrepreneur Awards as one of the 50 best tech entrepreneurs in the United Kingdom.
