Alexis Ayaana Fisher, born April 5, 1995, is a contemporary Pop and R&B singer and songwriter from Atlanta, Georgia.

Early life[edit | hide all | hide | edit source]

Alexis Ayaana Fisher is a native of College Park, Georgia.[1] Her roots are founded in Spanish and West Indian culture as her father is a native of Panama and her mother is from Barbados.[1] Alexis attended Tri-Cities High School of Performing Arts. The same performing arts school that molded many students turned stars such as Kandi Burruss and Outkast.[2] She began singing at the age of 7.[2] With a love and appreciation for fashion as well, Alexis Ayaana has a background in modeling and currently attends Clark Atlanta University studying Fashion Merchandising. Her formal singing, dance, and modeling training have contributed to preparing her for ascension into the spotlight as a well-rounded artist.[2]

Career[edit | hide | edit source]

Signed to Grown Money Entertainment (GME) in 2014, Alexis Ayaana released her debut single, Balenciaga in the spring of 2014. An alternatively sweet and aggressive track, it features a guest appearance from rapper and fellow Atlanta native Kwony Ca$h.[3] With a tremendous promotional presence, the single has made strong waves.[4] It made a significant impact locally and led to a "Best Female Vocalist" nod at the 2014 Atlanta Underground Music Awards. In 2015 it was given a wider release.[3] When Balenciaga dropped via YouTube, it was a spur of the moment decision after a photo shoot. From there the song went to Twitter and then Instagram. Mastermind Lyor Cohen of 300 would have probably agreed with that move. Alexis Ayaana says she approached her team consisting of sister and manager Sheresa DaCosta, a former employee of Warner Music Group and Brand Asset Management with the idea of dropping the song that day and the rest was history. "I don't really like talking about stuff. I just want to do it".[1] Her first performance for Balenciaga was in Atlanta during Hustle & Flow which got an instant buzz. The song is already being recognized as the women's anthem in the streets.[1] Balenciaga is currently in rotation on Atlanta's major radio stations and several stations throughout the Southeast.[2] She is currently working on the release of her second single You Mad featuring rapper Lil Debbie.[2]
