Anne Louise Avery is an English art historian with a focus on African-American Art from the 18th and 19th century. She is widely considered to be an expert on Edward Mitchell Bannister. She has also authored the book on Outsider ArtWe Were There, Now We're Here: New Art by Young British Artists with Autism, which included an foreward by the Prime Minister, David Cameron.
